Its a Long Way Home When You Lose!

Never the one to start counting Chickens before they hatch, with tonights result and both Man Utd and Arsenal dropping points two each to be precise, there are a fair few new chicks running around my household this evening.

I have just got back from the game and there is no point turning in yet, cos I know I won't sleep. I have just read the column written by the 'Boro lad and he is telling his readers and Middlesbrough supporters 'to believe.' To believe in their own club, to believe that the tide will turn their way again.

Chelsea now it is time to start believing. Start to believe that the Premiership title is on its way to Stamford Bridge. Remember when you was a kid and you believed that Santa came down the chimney on Christmas Eve. Start believing now in the very same way. Chelsea have eleven days before the visit to Tottenham and 'Three Point Lane.' Bask in the glory that Chelsea are now SEVEN points clear of Arsenal and ELEVEN points clear of Man Utd. Wenger and Ferguson who's cracking up now.

Chelsea won at a canter. Within seventeen minutes, two Didier Drogba goals - a shot and a header - two in two minutes, sealed Boro's fate. To be fair Middlesbrough started the better team and had Chelsea on the back foot. But once the first and then the second goals went in, it was all but over. It was just a question of how many Chelsea would eventually get.

The team was in complete contrast to the one that was predicted in the preview. Smertin, Cole both started, along with Drogba. Gudjohnsen, Tiago, Johnson and Kezman were on the bench.

Chelsea's first half performance was sublime in contrast to the second half. However chances were created and missed. Three new songs from the MHL got their 'opening night' performances.

'Arjen Robben and Damien Duff'

'John Terry and William Gallas'

'Frank Lampard and Makelele'

all to the tune of 'Top of the League, We are Having a Laugh.'

Five straight wins, ten goals scored and none conceded.

Top of the League we are and SEVEN points clear of Arsenal and ELEVEN points clear of Man Utd. It is going to take a mammoth Chelsea cock-up to let this slip away.

It couldn't happen, could it?
