Will it Be Tottenham or Bolton??

From a Chelsea consensus and also that of Jose Mourinho, Chelsea DO NOT want the title won on Monday night. Jose reckons that any significant result from Highbury will interfere with the Champions League preparations leading up to the 1st leg against Liverpool on Wednesday night. But knowing Jose any result and any celebrations of any kind will not interefere with HIS immaculate planning. Jose for Prime Minister. (snigger).

Fulham didn't deserve to lose 3-1. In fact had Fulham got all three points or at least one, there would not of been any complaints of any sort from any corner of those associated with Chelsea Football Club. Fulham caused Chelsea all sorts of problems more so in the first half and if it wasn't for a half hearted challenge and a slip by Carvalho which led to Collins John scoring Fulham's equaliser, Fulham may not have scored at all. Cech had to be at his best. Even in the dying embers of the game, Cech pulled off a wonderful one handed save from a Collins John free-kick, which took a deflection on its way.

Chelsea opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Drogba who had a poor game, fed Joe Cole who took two steps inside and unleashed a right foot curler which beat Van Der Saar all ends up, from twenty yards. A wonderful strike, from player who is simply becoming a Chelsea superstar.. Cole didn't appear for the second half. He was replaced by Robben who gave Chelsea that extra dimension that they needed as Fulham did not lay down and die. Huth also became a half time substitute victim and his place was taken by Jari Jarosik, but it was Duff who dropped back to fill the vacant left back role. What trouble could Duff and Robben cause down that left hand side? Well certainly they did inflict some damage as Robben swept the ball in for PFA nominee Super Frank to run on and side foot Chelsea's second in the 64th minute. Once that second went in, Chelsea looked far more relaxed and returned to playing some of the sweet football that saw off Barcelona and Bayern Munich challenges in the Champions League. The game was wrapped up three minutes from time when Tiago (replacing the ineffective Drogba) fed a superb through ball for Gudjohnsen to race onto and slot past Van Der Saar and in the process scoring Chelsea's 100th goal in all competitions this season. (Who says Chelsea are boring?!?!) So there it was. Final whistle time and although the title wasn't won or confirmed on St George's Day April 23rd, as it was 50 years ago to the day, Chelsea players led by another PFA nominee and favourite, Super JT began a salute to the adoring fans. Premature perhaps? Or an entitlement to show the fans what the players think of them? Who cares. It shows the players care and its so deserving of their efforts.

Speaking of effort. Jose described the players performance as 'super-human' as he again attacked the authorities for scheduling the game for a lunchtime kick-off, only a couple of days after a late kick off against Arsenal. Jose you have a point, but to satisfy the armchair supporters and those who can't get to games due to the JCL's (Johnny Come Latelys) who have jumped on the Chelsea bandwagon, this is one argument that you will never never win.
