GLORIOUS PREDICTABILITY

Two words sum up last night's 'Battle of Britain Mark 108' - GLORIOUS PREDICTABILITY. Despite all of the hype thrown out into the media circus, tigers, lions, cheetahs and the rest - chewing and digesting every noun, adjective, sentence thrown into the snarling pool

- it was odds on that the result was going to be 0-0. I said to '17 Years a Blue' (my passionate Chelsea Fan son) this game had 0-0 written all over it.

And so it proved. Once decent chance for each side (well chances worthy of reporting that is). Robben firing just wide in the second half from a Drogba chest down and Risse's shot well saved by Cech in the first-half. Oh 'sugar' I forgot Reina's near 'bulls-up' before the first quarter of the first half had ended, when his mis-throw allowed Super Frank a shot which to be fair, Reina made up for his error with a good save.

Well the Rotung One got what he wanted and I suppose 'The Special One' got what he wanted too. Lets see after Saturday's results who 'actually really won' because both managers said that they were thinking more about their respective League games than they were thinking about last night's 'Battle of Britain 108.'

Chelsea play Wigan and Liverpool play Middlesbrough, for those who don't know, or don't care or are not sure. For me and '17 Years a Blue' there is only one game we care about!!

Now although the game ended 0-0 and Liverpool won Group G, we could have easily seen a 1-1. Not in goals but sending off's. Essien and Sissoko in particular. Now before I get attacked (which has already started, check the message board) from pillar to post and be seen as the defender of the Chelsea cause I admit that Essien was 'extremely' fortunate to stay on the park after his high tackle on old man Hamman's kneecap. My only argument to justify Essien's presence on the pitch after the tackle was THAT the ref blew before for a Chelsea foul before Essien launched. Now having said that we all know that Essein was very very lucky to stay on the park when he did a similar thing in the Bolton game, not many weeks ago. And I am sure, although I hate to admit it, that perhaps the very next time he does it again he will get the RED card.

Essien cool it. Otherwise you will be off the the African Cup of Nations sooner than you think.

Sissoko however for me at least, his actions were just pure revenge and the unlucky player concerned was Eider Gudjohnsen. Now my '17 Years A Blue' knows more about Sissoko than I do and he said 'he's just a dirty Petrol tanker' (snigger LOL snigger LOL).

Had to laugh at Harry Kewell (Should Have Stayed at Leeds). DId he miss Sheree that much? I mean what on earth did he look like tying his hair up like he did. Give him a pair of breasts and I suppose he could look like Sheree. LOL LOL LOL!!! A bit like dogs looking like their owners.
