Make no bones about it, Chelsea didn't play well but it was better than their opening day performance at the JJB where they nicked a 1-0. But then again Wigan were not an attacking threat either. They were well orgainsed yes, but they didn't trouble the second best goalkeeper in the Premiership throughout the whole ninety-minutes. Yes. Carlo was given a starting role. Another unexpected decision by 'The Special One' and Joey Cole was given a start which threw my team prediction out of the window for a start, although I did manage to call nine out of eleven correct. (Thats OK. No applause ED).

In addition to scoring the winning goal from a Frankie Lampard corner, JT was involved in a serious Chelsea penalty claim during the first half where he was rugby tackled by Wigan's Lee McCullouch during the first half. Like on Tuesday night it appeared that the Ref, Howard Webb and his assistants only saw what they wanted to see and some of the offside decisions awarded against Chelsea only leaves expletives to the imagination.

At the end of the day, this game is all about results. Chelsea got theirs. Another win at home which takes Chelsea to nine out of nine. Another clean sheet and a confidence and morale boosting victory to take into the battle of Highbury next Sunday (which merely is all about bragging rights and nothing else).

With Chelsea's previous League history at Highbury being nothing to much to boast about, a defeat there will not make one bit of difference to Chelsea's Championship charge - only a dent in pride and over the years, Chelsea fans have got used to the dents! LOL LOL LOL.
