It took the Champions thirty-five minutes to mount their first serious attack on Liverpool's goal and boy did they make it count.
In swung Lampard's corner, up jumped Carvalho to win his most important header of the game, and in came Willie G to stroke in the Champions 1st goal in front of the 3,000 travelling Kop. In recent history never has a goal against Liverpool been soundly celebrated as Gallas' was this afternoon. After all, Chelsea fans still rankle after the Champions League encounter at Anfield, when Liverpool scored the goal 'that never was.' This goal was and this goal stood. Crespo had two goals disallowed. His first may have been offside but his second certainly wasn't. His second came thirty seconds after Crespo had carefully scored from a lob from Del Horno to make the score 2-0. Nothing much looked on but the quality of Crespo and his finish, across the despairing dive of Reyna saw the ball nestle in the left hand corner of the net. This goal had looked more offside than the one that was deemed offside. No matter Chelsea had the upper hand and the two goal advantage. '"Have you ever seen Gerrard win the League?," came the chant added with 'Cisse, how's your wife?,' (fair play to Cisse, acknowledged the chant with a clap). The win puts the Champions fifteen points ahead of Man Utd and now twenty-one points of Liverpool and now JM has won five out of nine against the Paella Man since the two came into English football management. But surely, even by the Paella man's moaning standards he can't say anything about 'Pool's keeper, Reyna getting himself sent-off after first a two footed challenge on Gudjohnsen out by the left hand touchline and then shoving Arjen Robben in the throat (which means that Reyna raised his hands, which YOU cannot do), forget how Robben reacted Reyna had to go. Ref Alan Wiley sent Reyna off for just that and now Liverpool were downn to ten-man and no goalkeeper. With thirteen games left, twenty-five points - eight wins and one draw - will see the Champions retain their title. COME ON CHELSEA! 40 YEARS A BLUE
