France Too Complacent?

France were held to a surprising 1-1 draw against South Korea last night and now need to beat Togo in their final group game to be in with a chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages.

France took the lead through Thierry Henry and seemed to be in control of the game for eighty minutes. Once the Koreans realised they were entering the last ten minutes they upped the ante and equalised through Ji Sung Park.

The look of anguish of William Gallas's face as the ball looped up over him on the line told the story of how France didn't take the match as serious as they should have done.

Had the Ref and the Assistant Linesman saw that the ball had crossed the line from a Vieria's header in the first half, France would have been sitting pretty at the top of Group G this morning.

In Group F Brazil saw off the determined challenge of Australia 2-0, with goals from Adriano and Fred and Japan and Croatia, also in Group F could only draw 0-0 and Croatia missed a first half penalty.

In today's action and the last of the individual matches, Togo play Switzerland in Group G and in Group H Spain take on Tunisia and Ukraine with 'The Shev' play Saudi Arabia.
