Rovers Face Potential Second Away Trip in FA Cup
By Deadly Submarine

The second cup draw in two days for Rovers was once again unkind to Ronnie Moore's men as they face a second trip of the seasont o face League One rivals Peterborough United in the second round if they can overcome Accrington Stanley in the replay in ten days time.

The second Cup draw to involve Rovers in the space of two days was once again unkind to the boys from Birkenhead as they were handed yet another FA Cup away trip should they succeed in next weeks first round replay.
If Rovers overcome League Two side Accrington Stanley in their first round replay at Prenton Park a week on Tuesday, they will then face a second round trip to League One rivals Peterborough United.
Such a game would be the second visit to London Road in just a few months for Rovers with their earlier visit in the League ending 2-2 after Rovers had initially been put 2-0 ahead by Chris Greenacre.
It would also be the third FA Cup meeting of the sides in the last four years with Posh winning both of the other two games 2-1, firstly at London Road in 2004/05 and then at Prenton Park in 2006/07.
Peterborough progressed to the second round on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over non-League Hornchurch thanks to a 91st minute goal from Craig Mackail-Smith.
The FA Cup draw came just 24 hours after Rovers were drawn away at Scunthorpe United in the area semi-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - the draw that Rovers would really have wanted to avoid.
Should Rovers progress to the second round, we will bring you ticket news and information for the tie as and when we get it.

We;ve had Peterborough so many times in the cup, think we had them in 2004, 2006, and now again.
We've also had hornchurch away in 2002.
I'm nto going to Bora away anyway if we get through, would go to hornchurch though!
Looking at the draw, and with 3/4 live games expected for round two, if Hornchurch get through, we have a chance of picking up the £75,000 for Live TV rights, of course I believe that Histon will be shown should Leeds progress, no doubt Leicester will be aired given their stature, and probably either our match should Hornchurch get through, or the winner of the Leiston v Fleetwood game. As always, for away games, a bit of extra cash is always helpful for the clubs day to day costs
every two years we meet them in the fa cup, not the best draw we could have had. still lets hope we beat accringtpn first.

Peterborough will not be an easy place to go as we found out a few weeks ago.
But as matthew said, we need to get past accrington first!
