Moore Amazed by Rovers Defeat

Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore couldn't believe that his side came away from the New Den with nothing to show for a fantastic effort as Millwall earned a lucky 1-0 home win to complete the double over Rovers for the this season after their 3-1 win at Prenton Park previously.
Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore believes that his side were unlucky not to come away from the New Den with anything at all and was also critical of the referee Roger East claiming that he needed a ‘stronger' referee for today's game.
East showed five yellow cards in the game, booking Rovers skipper Antony Kay and Ian Goodison whilst there were also claims for a penalty late on.
Moore showed his frustration saying:
"We needed a strong referee and we didn't have one today which was frustrating for me. I can't believe we are coming away from here with nothing."
"Millwall are a good side but today wasn't one of their best days and we will take credit for that."
"We played well except for 15 minutes after half-time when they put us under pressure. We weren't good enough in both boxes."
Moore also thought his men didn't make the most of there chances:
"We had opportunities but didn't take them, and at places like this you have to take your chances."
Meanwhile Millwall manager Kenny Jackett hailed his sides win:
"It looked like a draw today but we won it with a very well-taken goal. It was a good move and a superb cross form Dave Martin which was finished off with an excellent header by Marc Laird."
Jackett was particularly impressed with Rovers claiming it was not an easy game against the men from Merseyside:
"We improved in the second half but Tranmere played well today and it wasn't easy - they were a real threat, especially from set-pieces."
Rovers next take on Carlisle United at Prenton Park on the 24th January, whom Rovers have already beaten this season beating the Cumbrians 2-1 at Brunton Park thanks to goals from Ian Moore and Ryan Shotton.

If any of the two injury time penalty shouts for us were possible it was the hand-ball but for me it was hit with power at their man and bounced up to his arm from the ground.
I suppose I've seen them given but I've also seem then not given (as was the case today).
As for the Moore penalty shout almost immediately afterwards it was a dive made all the more annoying by the fact that had he not gone down, Moore may have been able to get one last cross into the box.
I would say that the match was unneccesarily bad tempered and the ref did perhaps lose the game towards the end at time but I thought other than that he had a good game with Kay's booking a deserved one (and Kay perhaps lucky to stay on the field later on).

Although I'm happy to see Shotton back I think it's a waste of a wage in a way when a striker is clearly needed fairly urgently.
