Boxing Day Trip to Oldham Falls Victim to the Cold

Tranmere fans enjoying Christmas Eve have this afternoon been hit with the inevitable news that Saturday's Boxing Day clash away at Oldham Athletic has been postponed because of the adverse weather conditions that have hit most of the country in the past seven days. No date has yet been set for the game to be played.....

The debate of the past few days can be now be put to rest after Boxing Day's away trip to Oldham Athletic was postponed due to the adverse weather conditions which have hit mch of the UK over the past seven days.
Despite the Latics confirming that the pitch itself was soft enough to play on, probably helped by seven or so inches of snow falling on top of it over recent days, the local authorities in Oldham have said that external conditions at the ground such as Car Parks and walkways were unsafe and as a result the game has been called off.

For Les Parry and his Rovers' players, the cancellation of the game can only be bad news after a superb home win last week and another arguably winnable home game next Monday, the chance of picking up vital points at struggling Oldham would have been the ideal Christmas tonic.
At least for Rovers fans though, a Tuesday night re-arrangement is not too much of a problem for the hour journey to Boundary Park.
No new date has yet been set for the game but Total Tranmere will bring you news on this and the re-arrangement of the Leeds United home game originally scheduled for January 2nd, as soon as we get it.

What you reckon?
After a home win last week and a winnable one on Monday we needed this game against a struggling Oldham team.
Bad news all round in my opinion.
Ah well, it was out of our hands so we cant grumble, just enjoy ya christmas gents, and look forward to Carlisle!!
