I am going for 1-1 think they will go there and try and keep it tight at the back with Andy being in goal and perhaps nick a goal.

Isnt there an incentive to finish higherup the table as trfc would receive more of the division sponsor money.So we need tobeat colchester and stay 10th

1-1 seems about right.

No doesnt make much difference financially.

Not a bad performance going forward from what I understand, but it seems they need to reassess what they are doing at the back an Sears scoring when Wallace was down injured, perhaps going against the unwritten footballing rule?

Maybe he should have put it out of play, but I don't know much about the situation, so I can't comment too much.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Goodison at fault for 3 goals, time to hang up boots.

what unwritten rule? You can't stop play every time a player goes down. The ref will stop play for head injuries-unless it is obviously serious,then that's as far as it should go.

Would have to see them again later but three? At first I felt Coughlin should have come for the first one but at Colchester we have the benefit of replays on the big screen and Goody should deffo have got to it.

Have to say that on seeing the replay it did not look like an own goal by Goody but again I will watch later.

Agree though he is becoming increasingly error prone and age I fear is catching up.

First goal: Goody's man but he was not helped by a lack of communication by the 'keeper or Holmes.

The second: poor that the lad had so much time to put the cross in and poor marking by (I think) Cassidy.

Third - Never an own goal by Goody but if it was his man.. free header. Besides this though, why the hell was their no one on the near post? This is basic defending. I don't know if it was down to Coughlin or Zoom moving off the post too quick, but it was poor.

Fourth goal. Think it was Holmes who wasn't tight enough to his man, but again, do not think Coughlin should be getting beat at his near post so easily. Though I'd like to see the replay.

Overall, I really don't see why we kept Coughlin over Collister. Not just basing that on today, and in fairness I don't see him train everyday, but based upon his performances in the reserves and the first team games I saw Collister play, I think Joe was better.

That said I'd love to be proved wrong!

Having watched the highlights last night I completely agree with Mikey's post except that I now think it did look like an own goal by Goody

It was definitely poor marking by Cassidy for the second.

Dismal defending - 3 goals from crosses and near post effort from Sears. Felt a little sorry for Coughlin but I am sure that this was good experience for him (and no not for picking the ball out of the net). Next game he needs to dominate his area and not let the ball be missed by the centrebacks. We needed someone faster at the back and I felt we really missed AT. Zoom had a good game going forward but defended poorly. In fact all the boys failed to press the Colchester players when they were in possession. As for the unsavoury challenges which occurred, Goody was responsible for starting it off with a challenge on one of their players in the centre circle which the ref missed (how he gets away with this I will never know).There have been at least 3 challenges I have seen this season when he should have been sent off. DH was dependable at right back except fo the last goal - will be a difficult player to replace if he leaves. Welsh had a poor game in midfield but was not helped with the lack of support the players showed when he was in possession many players failed to show for simple passes. Wallace played well in the middle but Akins was another disappointment. Robbo did not play as well I have seen him earlier in the season and as far as I am concerned he is wasted at left midfield. Although Cassidy scored I would have liked to see Brunt play in this game (injured?). Chicken looked lost in the first half but did play much better in the 2nd (worth another luck).
Overall I thought we were second best and after conceding two goals at the start of the 1st and 2nd half I new we would be in for a long afternoon. Oh yes and the refreshments appeared to be very expensive (needed a second mortgage for a hot drink £2!!!!!!!!!)
Will miss last game of the season next week, I hope the team put on a much better display than today.

You could have driven a bus through the centre of our defence in this fixture. I felt sorry for poor Andy Coughlin making his debut with such a defence to have playing in front of him, while he also made a couple of good saves after Colchester had taken the lead which kept us in the game. Goodison Played like an old man and Mc Chrystal in his return to the side after injury could not cope either when balls from set -pieces were slung into the area. Cracking goal from Wallace plus some good touchs from Mustafa & Cassidy, but we did miss Ash Taylor in the spine of our Defence.If they had done their job I felt we could have got a result from this fixture.
