i have predicted the same scoreline that is keeping me bottom of the prediction league!!!!!!

As long as the dreaded manager/player of the month award does not put a curse on us ( thankfully it did not last month) then fingers crossed another 3 points should be ours. Even with three key players missing (preety peed off that Fon Williams only sat on the bench last night and could not be released to play today) I think that if we get at Yeovil early on we should be to strong and pacey for them. Therfore I go out on a limb and predict 3-0.

just in from the match and am still breathless, created and missed numerous chances then went 2 down to some sloppy defending but whereas last season we would have folded it was great to see us taking the game to them. scored just at the right time and the 2nd half carried on with more chances coming our way. thought wallace was fantastic followed by mcgurk who was a revelation, great to see the players reaction at full time and well done to the crowd for playing their part. i said at the start of the season i,d be happy with good football but i never expected these performances,

I said at the start of last season that we had the players to have a really good season but regrettably we did not have the manager with the experience to deliver and things went from bad to worse.
This year we have the manager and I am v happy

I'll be amazed if I can sleep tonight I'm buzzing so much at the moment!
Surprised to hear Ronnie on the radio describe it as a poor performance. I wonder if it was designed to keep teams underestimating us. There were a few defensive lapses in the first half but I thought that if you put them to one side that was a superb performance. In the first half of the first half especially we were going through them like a knife through butter. A caller on Merseyside said that he'd sum that performance up with the two words "youthful exhuberance" and that's absolutely spot on. We were so dominant that I think that the lack of maturity in the team meant that we pressed too hard to take advantage and get an early goal and we forgot about the defense. Still, the youngsters came good in the end!
On the negative side, I'm really, really annoyed with the ref for Tompson's injury. Their full back was always going to hurt someone and he should have been booked for an earlier bad foul (which was already the fourth foul that he'd committed, as the ref pointed out to him). Don't think that Ref had any control over the game at all - kept pulling us back from quickly taken free kicks claiming that the ball had been moving when the truth is that he had no idea because he wasn't watching.

At the start of last season I had a tenner on us for promotion. This season I didn't bother. Big mistake I think.

He pulled us back on at least 3 or 4 occasions because the ball was moving every time.

Spread the word people something good is happening. On another note is it right about Nathan Tyson on loan? I have got mate who is derby fan but he hasn't heard anything

Great result, to battle back from 2 down and now on 30 points. 6 points above second.

I believed McGurk could deliver last season, but sadly the tactics clipped his wings sometimes, but now with the chance to play in better, more proactive tactics, he obviously shows more of what he good at.

This is great news in terms of having depth to fall back on.

A cracking game and what a comeback the goal just before half time was just what we needed.

We looked very poor defensivly for most of the game and struggle with their movement, they were the best team so far to come here although rather physical at times.

Even withought Robbo & JLAA we still created a lot of chances and scored 3 more goals. We could do with bringing in a bit more cover up front especially if Thompson is out for any length of time.

Not sure we were terrible defensively. To me we looked a bit over anxious to get forward in the first half and left ourselves exposed a bit. Fair play to Yeovil for exploiting that though, their goals looked a bit like pinball and the ball happened to fall right for them as much as good play (though I was on the Kop and therefore didn't have a great view). Second half we seemed more composed and more solid yet still created chances. Teams will start to play on the counter attack against us at Prenton so we need to guard against giving them starts like this. Still we're doing everything that is asked of us. Teams are waiting for us to falter yet we go away to Notts Co and win, come back from 2 down at home. In some ways it reminds me a little of a Northampton team from the mid-80s who came from completely off the radar to click and were unstoppable all season. 100 goals and 100 points I think. Here's hoping!

It reminds me of the Guernsey United team in the Combined Counties League division 1 last season. First ever season and averaging about 1,200 fans a game in a 50 fan a game league. Walked it by a mile and had a top scorer on 62 goals I seem to recall.

I think their highest scoreline was 9-0 and a goal difference of just over 50 after 3 months of the season..

I doubt Tranmere will get a player scoring 62 though .

Yeovil were very clever yesterday, they gave us a lot of room in midfield and let Wallace and Palmer get forward so when attacking, they overloaded us as our midfielders weren't back to help. It worked a lot and they managed to get 2 goals from us. However, giving Wallace that much room can only have one outcome and that's us scoring goals.

I thought Wallace was immense yesterday, he ran the game and caused Yeovil a lot of pain. I was also very impressed with McGurk too, thought his crossing and general forward play was amazing and his corners are lethal.

The referee was an absolute joke though, the foul on Thompson was discraceful and deserved a red on it's own. I'm glad he got sent off eventually because he deserved it. It was a really good game up to 2-2 because both sides gave it there all but after that, Yeovil just seemed to want to kick us off the park and the referee's bad judgements let them do that. The booking of Wallace was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. The lad was holding his arm, and all he did was try to get loose and gets a yellow for lashing out.

Still, moaning aside 7 points clear and far superior goal difference, I'm still struggling to take it all in!!!

There are many who think Wallace was fortunate not to get a red card.Yeovil were very physical throughout all bar the first half hour not just after it became 2-2.It was a very difficult game to ref and I thought by and large he did reasonably well especially as it was his first league game for 10 months.Wallace,Palmer and McGurk were IMO our best 3 players-we were much better going forward than at the back as were Yeovil.

I believe the ref because of his long injury absence was allowed to choose which ground he wanted to go to.He chose PP because it was the only league ground he hadn't reffed at.
