After confirming a home friendly against Bolton Wanderers last week, Tranmere have today confirmed a second pre-season fixture at home as they take on Liverpool at Prenton Park on Friday 8th July with a 7:00pm kick off.
The game had previously been rumoured to be taking place but confirmation came today that Jurgen Klopp's Reds will visit Rovers for the first time in pre-season since 2008.

There's no way Liverpool are going to use anyone whose been in the Euros or Copa America that early in Pre-Season.
So the only 'big names' who might play are: Bogdan; Toure; Lovren; Lucas; Firmino; and Ings. Given they play us, Fleetwood, Wigan and Huddersfield in a short period, I'd guess these are the only first teams who will play in those matches. So it wouldn't surprise me if they have youngsters against us playing for the right to prove themselves for the US tour in the later games.
It will be the strongest team Liverpool can put out we play, but far from their first team. Normally I wouldn't post something online which might affect the size of the gate, but I think this will sell-out whoever Liverpool put out.
Hoots Mon The last home pre-season friendles at Prenton Park that I saw were against Osasuna and Racing Santander.
Have seen us play away a few times but they don't have any lure for me. This one will be the same.
im going to watch frank turner that night so i will not be attending prenton park to see a wall of red, although i am very happy to take there £20 quid a ticket for 15000 people
I'm away anyway but would be reluctant to put myself through a game where regardless of home and away sections, there is bound to be Liverpool fans all around us everywhere!
I'm not saying we shouldn't have this game, of course we should, but it's just not for me to be honest!
In my case,it's nothing to do with who the opposition is. I just don't want travel down for a friendly. The two Spanish games WERE interesting because that was against a different country's teams.
Gutted about the date and time for this one. I was hoping to travel up from the south coast with my little lad (Liverpool fan). Could've fulfilled two promises to him in one game; to watch Tranmere at Prenton Park (his request after the away day at Eastleigh) and for him to get to see Liverpool play too. But he is in school that day and we won't be able to make it up in time for kick off thereafter.
Unless I introduce him to the art of bunking off at the tender age of 9?
