Nothing Wrong With Third

Speaking to BBC Football, Rvoers boss has said that the fans have to think of how far the team has come in the past 12 months, and not to be unhappy with third positino in League One.

Speaking to BBC Football, Tranmere Rovers boss Brian Little has said to fans that they shouldn't be upset by their league position, but instead think of how much the side has progressed.

Little did say that the league is still for anyones taking and believes his side can challenge anyone for it.

Speaking to BBC Football he said :

"The odd supporter would say we should be top but you have to remember where we have come over the last year.

"The message in the dressing room is 'don't be disappointed to be third', we just have to keep working away.

"I do want to be top but I'm not disappointed by the fact that we are third," said Little.

"A year ago the club were in a difficult position and we have changed things around in a short period of time and look a better side all round so I have to be pleased with the progress.

Little believes that the Rovers players have the right attitude and wokr rate, to continue playing well in League One, and push for that exit out of it.

He said "I think we have been fairly consistent all season, whenever we have lost a game we have managed to bounce back fairly quickly,"

"The defeat against Bristol City at home on 10 January was the biggest disappointment we have had so far because a win would have given us an opportunity to get within two points of Luton and Hull, but we won our next game, at Wrexham.

"The top two have both had had an exceptional spell of results and to get on their heels would have been good.

"In fairness if you were any manager in the league you would be in charge of either Hull or Luton - their points from games played is quite outstanding.

"If I look back at last season I cannot imagine either Plymouth or QPR had got this many points at this stage of the season."

Although Little has said how much he'd love to catch up with runner aways, Hull and Luton, he also admits its a huge task, but still consists its not all over.

"The five extra points are massive and they have a game in hand. Should they both win that game in hand we have to win three more games than them, which is a tall order," added the Rovers boss.

"You have to say they are in the box seats at the moment but if we have the chance to go through the play-offs at the end of the season we will do so."
