Rovers Target Set For Oldham?

According to Sky Sports, Tranmere target Luke Beckett is set to finalise a deal with Oldham Athletic.

The 28 year old striker spent the end of last season on loan with the Latics, and impressed with manager, Ronnie Moore. Moore admitted it would be a great coup if he managed to capture the signature of the prolific goalscorer.

In his nine games with Oldham, Beckett scored six goals, becoming a fans favourite, a bright spark out of a dismal season for the Latics.

But Oldham now look a totally different team, with some significant signings. Now, Luke Beckett looks set to add onto the signatures, along with Richie Wellens who signed from Blackpool earlier this week.

Although, the deal is yet to be finalised, Sky reported that it was nearly a done deal, should everything go to plan, but the official Oldham site state that Luke is still over looking options from other clubs. So is that another one off the strikers list for Rovers?

At one point it looked certain that Luke would sign for Tranmere. And according to the Oldham site, there must still be hope. So who knows, once again were in a whirlpool off rumours, not knowing when there going to stop or when some truth will appear.
