League One Review - Week 1 - Part 1

Barnsley: Barnsley have been a busy club in the closed season making a number of signings including 22-year-old Daniel Nardiello, Scunthorpe's Pauls Hayes and 22-year-old ex-Swindon man Brian Howard.

Blackpool: Blackpool have also made some signings in the early part of this pre-season. Richie Wellens' move to Boundary park in a swap which saw Latics sriker Scot Vernon return to the sea side resort after a brief loan spell.

Bournemouth: With just no signings as yet Bournmouth have been reasonabley quiet on the transfer front only bringing in one player so far. They have brought in Lim Chan Yew a Malaysian International for a months trial during pre-season.

Bradford: With lots of speculation of players joining the Bantoms, only one player has joined as of yet and that is former Tranmere Keeper Russel Howarth. Bradford are close to sealing a few deals so should start next season with a few new faces.

Brentford: After missing out on a play-off final and a chance to play Championship football next season Brenford have started re-building their squad and have started by signing former Chelsea youngster Sam Tillen. Not only have the Bees been looking in the Premiership for emerging talent but they have also been browsing in the non-league section. They have made the signing of Yeading striker DJ Campbell.

Bristol City: Bristol City have made signings this closed season of Alex Russel and Matt Heywood but perhaps the biggest signing in the league so far is Marcus Stewart's move to Ashton Gate. The former Bristol Rovers man since joining city has seen them move up to be one of the favourites to win promotion.

Chesterfield: Only one player has made a move to Saltergate so far and that is ex-Tranmere Right winger Paul Hall. Although hall was reluctant to leave the Rovers he felt he had to as the Spireites offered him a two year contract against Tranmere's one year offer.

Colchester: With no-one in and some players Colchester must be waiting for the decks to be cleared before buying in players. Phil Parkinson must be waiting to see who is going to depart and then signing players who can fill the vacant positions.

Doncaster: Stephen Roberts former Wrexham man has commited himself to joining his brother Neil upfront for Doncaster next season. Along with Roberts two goal keepers from Denmark have joined Doncaster. Jan Budtz and his fellow country man Tonny Nielsen will be playing in a Doncatser Jersey next season but who will be wearing number one?

Hartlepool: Since their Pay-off Final against Sheffiel Wednesday, 'pool have not made any progress in the transfer market and not so much of a hint of a player joining Hartlepool has been circulating.

Huddesfield: Although no players have been signed by Huddersfield, contracts have been renewed. It appears that all the players which are required at Galpharm Stadium next season have been retained and now all the squad needs is some depth and huddesfield will be ready for League one action.

Hull: The newly promoted Hull City have been busy on the transfer market. They have made signings including, Curtis Woodhouse from Peterborough, ex-Portvale striker Steven McPhee, Portuguees Keeper Sergio Leite and Wolves midfielder Keith andrews. All these signing will be needed if Hull are to stay in the Championship next season.
