BARNSLEY Vs TRANMERE ROVERS
Tuesday December 6th 2005 – Kick-Off 7.45pm
Coca-Cola League One – Oakwell
Team News
Barnsley are expected to have Brian Howard (suspension) and Paul Reid (neck) back in contention for places but the Tykes may be forced to rest Jacob Burns who has a severe cold. Bobby Hasall is expected to play despite suffering from a leg injury.
Tranmere Rovers are minus Paul Linwood and captain Jason McAteer (both knee) for the trip to Oakwell and Rovers have two players facing fitness tests on Tuesday morning. Goalkeeper John Achterberg is suffering from a pelvis injury so Steve Wilson is on standby and defender Mike Jackson has missed training with a calf injury. If Achterberg is unavailable, young keeper Phil Palethorpe is likely to be handed a place on the bench.

The Tykes go into Tuesday’s match on the back of a 1-1 FA Cup home draw with Yorkshire neighbours Bradford City who were responsible for Rovers exit in the last round of the competition.
They have lost just one of their last six games at home in all competitions and have not lost in any of their last six games at home or away.
Rovers travel to Oakwell on the back of a record that shows that Rovers have failed to win there on any of their previous visits in their history.
Rovers won their last away game, at Scunthorpe 2-1 and have been playing much better away from home than at Prenton Park in recent weeks although a decent performance at home to League leaders Swansea will have done them some good.
