Dirk Kuyt, the Holland International has signed a four year contract with Liverpool. A fee was agreed with his club Feyenoord on Wednesday afternoon while Newcastle United, who were also chasing him, were on their way to scout him again in the Ireland v Holland match.

It’s believed that Newcastle had offered him £90,000 a week but Kuyt had no hesitation in turning this down for a lower wage at Liverpool because he wanted to play for his dream club.

Kuyt could be in line for his debut at Sheffield tomorrow.
