ARE YOU WATCHIING?

Old Trafford boomed yesterday as they equaled our titles record. We have heard united fans enquire were we watching them for many decades now. Always found it strange the very club that has throughout my lifetime, and that be nearly fifty years, proclaimed their club to be the biggest, most famous club in the world.
Even at the height of our golden era, which spanned over twenty years, it was Manchester United who still claimed to be top English club.
So it has always given us an ironic smug feeling of superiority over them, because of our very mention at all their triumphs. We are their touchstone, their ultimate goal by which they measure themselves.
No finer compliment can your bitterest enemy give to you.
All the more satisfying when they seem totally oblivious of the fact that, yes Manchester, we have been watching, but not as much as you at us.

Its obvious the Pox have a very serious and unhealthy inferiority complex towards Liverpool, much in the same way a lot of Scots have towards England.
Liverpool showed the world how to easily beat the Pox, just tackle hard and go at them and they go to pieces, they cnat handle it, the rest of the Premiership seemingly did not learn that lesson as they pitifully rolled over for them.
Pity those 3 successive home draws in January and before that Tottenham somehow fluking a 2-1 win against us at White hart lane when we should have won 6 or 7 nil, it is those 3-4 games which has ultimately gifted the title, once again, to the Pox down the motorway, they dont 'win' it, they get GIVEN it time and time again.
Lets sort that out quickly.

Fulham rolling over against United was the result that made me fume. I was advocating Hodgson for manager of the season until then but that 'performance' tarnished a great season for him and his players in my eyes.

Don't agree with that, CC. If that were the case why would they then bust a gut beating them 2-0 at home?
Actually, I don' think too many teams did roll over for them this year. They just had the benefit of a lot of decisions in tight games at OT that enabled them to win 1-0, whereas we only drew the equivalent games at Anfield.

And now that Curbishley and McLaren are not managing in the Premiership, the previous trend for rolling over against Man Utd. is not currently happening.

Actually, I don' think too many teams did roll over for them this year. They just had the benefit of a lot of decisions in tight games at OT that enabled them to win 1-0, whereas we only drew the equivalent games at Anfield.

I would suggest they then bust a gut because they were embarrassed about their earlier effort? Totally agree about Curbishley and McClaren though and I will be watching Blackburn next season considering "Big" Sam is Old Purple Nose's new best friend.

Just accept that the best team won the league! "Well if we'd beaten Fulham and Hull blah blah blah". Well we could say the same about the matches in which we lost points couldnt we? Every team could.
CC, thats funny about Allardyce because I watched both Blackburn (with Chris Samba up front) at Anfield and Blackburn at Old Trafford and they were like two completely different teams.
The only way youll have a chance of winning the league next year is if we get too complacent having won it 3 years in a row, or if we lose Ronaldo and dont replace him, because we've already shown this year that we can cope with lots of injuries and with fighting for 5 competitions. Imagine if we have a fully fit squad all of next season. We'll be clear of you by November.

Just stick with the young Brazilian lad at right back and you automatically have a weaklink, like a lot of modern 'wingbacks' he looks okay going forward but doesnt convince going backwards. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Old Purple Nose looking for a rightback, left winger and a Centre Mid holding player for next season. Dependant on Ronaldo staying of course.

Rafael is going to be a star, - he might be a little suspect defensively (he can hold his own though) but he'll get it coached into him just like Evra did. Attacking full backs are vital if you want to break down defensive teams at home. Maybe thats where youve been going wrong. Anyway, Brown is still our number 1 right back when he's fit so no need to spend on that position.
Centre mid holding player - we dont really play with one but Hargreaves should be back next season.
Left winger....we've already signed the kid Tosic so this won't happen.
He might strengthen at right wing if Ronaldo is pushed forward more often. But then Hargreaves can play there as well. Ive heard Valencia from Wigan might be an option. If not then probably sign another striker to replace Tevez.
The one position we are potentially weak is in goal. Van der Saar has one more year in him and Im not convinced by Foster (or his injury record). If Ginsoak identifies the right keeper over the summer then he'll bring him in i think

Robbie, he may only have Ł 80 - 90 million to spend so he may just be able to bring in a couple of squad players

Fair point about the keeping situation. Funny how the two clubs struggled with recruiting keepers. Both Liverpool and United have gone through a fair few in recent years.

Knll mick that many ! VDR been a top keeper but me thinks past his best now .OK for another season but noy easy getting hold of top keepers.

I suppose at least most of Liverpools "reject" keepers actually stayed in the league! I think it highlights just how valuable Pepe is. He must be one of the top 6 keepers in Europe and he is a relative youngster.

I think Liverpool fans saying that United have been handed the title are pathetic
The reason united have won the league this year is because of our football and are willingness to win. Many times this season we have been put on the back foot in games and managed to grind out the win, it's not pretty but it's effective
Wigan being the most prime example, it was our game in hand and would have took the pressure off having to beat Arsenal in order to keep you lot off top spot.
We played badly at first, went 1-0 down but didn't give up, we knew what we had to do and we went and did it, 2 very well taken goals sealed it and its that little x-factor that you need to win games like that
Spurs is another example (cue the typical Howard Webb onslaught
) 2-0 down at half time, playing poorly, yes it may have been a contreversial penalty decision but in no way did it automatically hand us the win as we still had to score another 2 to get the win.
The mommentum may have swang our way after that but its the players that have to use that mommentum to ful effect and thats what our team is capable of
Your claims of teams "rolling over" hold no foundation, you won your games that you played before us we replied with wins in our games, its as simple as that. We didn't break under your pressure it was simply a case of what every you can do we can do

Give a plausable example with sufficient evidence of when any team in the league has deliberatly handed us a win
