LFC---- STARING INTO THE ABYSS

The most decorated club in the history of the English game is dying. After just two years under its American owners the club is bleeding to death. The bank loans the Americans used to buy the club are now a terrible yoke around its neck. The spiraling interest payments are death by a thousand cuts, as the life blood of the club is sucked away by these two cancerous leaches.
The fans have mobilised into forming a union S.O.S.(SPIRIT OF SHANKLY)but find themselves in a "catch 22" scenario. The only way to hurt and drive these obnoxious capitalists out of their club is in their pockets, but to organise boycotts of the club is to hurt the club you are fanatical about.
Also, the union has found how much the make up of the crowd has changed. Its one thing locally not to use the club shop, but how do you stop the day trippers from far and wide?
As the economic future of the club is given dire black warnings from the business world, the fans must realise the time is at hand to take radical drastic action.
Now is the time for all factions to fall in behind the SOS banner. To mobilise, unite as one is the only way to unsettle the banks who are propping up the owners. If it means boycotting a match, live on sky it must be done.
LFC is staring into the abyss. If left in the hands of the Americans the club will implode within 2/3 years. Only the fans can save the club, how much do you care?

Your article is true and very down to earth, what the yanks have done to L'pool in the last 2 years is unjustified and shows they are in it purely from their financial gain.
Why? David Moores sold to them and not DIC is a question only he can answer. There are 2 postitives to come out of this
1 Hopefully the banks will pull the plug on their loan as RBS is now in the hands of the government they cannot renegitiate refinancing a loan
2 From what I have read in the media all is not lost from DIC
they watch from a comfortable distance in Dubia as the yanks continue to squirm and become more entangled in their own web of deceit. Dic are proposing a new bid come february march 2010 if this be true this will be good for all concerened.
I said 2 but here is a third if the impossible becomes the inevitable (Champions league) and reds do not qualify
and I sincerley hope they do the yanks could be looking at a whole new can of worms for them.
This year the CL could be a problem for one of the big 4

I have been a Liverpool supporter for 38 years. I have never been more despondent. It's true, we are bleeding to death. We are in total danger of becoming the next Leeds United. We are not too big to die. We cannot stick our heads in the sand. The club must acquire new owners somehow. I'm not smart enough to tell you how, but neither am I dumb enough to hide from the truth. Our beautiful club, known throughout the world, going down the pan. Such a painful truth, a laughing stock amongst Gooners and Mancs. Just think how great we could be with the right funding. We pushed United almost to the brink last year. Success is not ours by right but neither is playing second/third fiddle to our rivals. How do we shame Hicks & Gilette into selling up? Do they understand the notion of shame? You

Nick Brown, just an observation I beleive that gillette
has wanted to sell for sometime but for whatever reason hicks has blocked it why? I dont know I assume that the agreement between them as joint owners stops him (gillette) from doing so. untill they sell and they will we will be in the dark. Unfortunatley

Yes most fans did and why on earth wouldnt we?We expect the manager and players to get it right on the pitch and the suits so sort the business side . After a protracted three year world wide search for the right custonians of the club we trusted Moores and Parry .We were assured the club would not be leaveraged with loans akin to Man u ,oh to turn the clock back.

You will never get a game at Anfield boycotted. The locals and those that know may stay away but the daytrippers and football tourists would still attend. The problem is a lot of "casual" fans see the signing of Johnson and Aqualani and not knowing/caring about behind the scenes, ask where the money problem is.

Thats the problem ,youve hit the nail on the head cherry. Should be very intresting meeting Saturday ,plenty of ideas will be aired . Lets see what prevails.I personally will push for a boycott ,a live sky game .Preferably a cup match .

A much publicised attempted boycott with plenty of attempts at explaining fully why the action was being taken would be effective. Even though I doubt a boycott would work, if it didnt succeed the publicity surrounding it would help get the awareness job done.

FORMER Man Utd chairman says the club has lost control of its debts.
Edwards, made an honorary life president of the club after resigning as chairman in 2002, feels that the Glazer family are wielding too much power as owners.
Edwards said: "It concerns me that the club are in so much debt.
"The club are not in control; that family are in control of the debt."
Malcolm Glazer completed his Old Trafford takeover in 2005, a move which left the club with debts approaching 700million.
"I can understand where the fans are coming from with their concerns," said Edwards.
"The crunch time will come when they [the Glazers] exit.
Will they saddle the club with the debt or just sell the club on for a profit because that's all they are interested in?
"How will they leave the club?
"I'm not going to make any accusations because up to now they have behaved fairly well, supporting the manager, and they haven't disrupted the running of the club or the personnel. Time will tell."
During his time in charge, Edwards had given his support to a proposed 623million takeover from BSkyB.
Edwards said: "I thought Sky would have taken Manchester United to a level where nobody could have got near us.
"That's why I recommended their offer in 1998. When they approached us, we had gone 30 years without winning the European Cup.
"I felt that they could have pushed us on to the next level."
