Plattini ----Satan or Saviour of English Football?

Lets not beat about the bush, we all believe UEFA are no more than a shower of freeloaders. A European Mafia cartel, ruling European football with a big stick that has a habit of smacking all things English, seemingly with great glee.

Clubs are the powerhouse of world football. The English Premier League is now the most powerful of all Europe's leagues, so we should not be surprised at UEFAs caustic approach to all things English, as we are a real threat to their football empire.

Enter Michele Plattini, a modern day Bonaparte determined to undermine the EPLs power. His ideas/rants about the money behind many of our top clubs, our academies pillaging the young fruit of European fields come across in our media as the rants of a bitter and twisted jealous Frenchman.

On the face of it the man bursts of total hypocrisy. Did he not play in Italy as a mercenary? Has not Spain's and Italy's top teams always broke the bank to dominate in Europe? He's just a jealous Johnny foreigner we hear, this will be our time to dominate surely.

Or, might the man have a valid point?

The premiership teams have jettisoned England's lower divisions. Their academies no longer look locally but to far foreign fields.  What happens to the top clubs if the pyramid below them falls?  What happens to our top clubs if the banks call in their loans, or their sugar daddies grow bored?

Maybe, just maybe, Platinni has all of footballs clubs interest at heart. Don't be too quick to condemn this satanic figure; he could be all of our saviours.

Hmm not convinced. I think he speaks sense but not sure he is doing it because he cares about the English game. Pretty sure if it was La Liga or Serie A he would be prattling on about how good the league must be because everyone wants to invest.
