The Liverpool Way

To me "The Liverpool Way" stood for the way the club was groomed, nurtured and had its values set by first Bill Shankly and second Bob Paisley. Shanks it was who started the dynasty that is Livepool Football Club and Bob finished the job off, leaving the way clear for Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish to add the finesse.

Shanks and Paisley were two men of totally different character, but of the same values. Honest, hard working, truthful working class men. Their teams mirrored them as did the club. Their teams did all their talking on the pitch, and it was left to others to proclaim their greatness.

Shankly forged a unique bond with the fans, one of total belief and trust. Everything he did, every breath he drew, was for our benefit. He was our living, beating heart. His legacy has been passed down, and with it every Liverpool manager has to carry that responsibility.

If he carries forward the same understanding of what Shankly created he will be rewarded with our total support. We couldn't give a damn about the opinions of outsiders. Rafa Benitez has understood the "Liverpool Way " from day one.

We trust our manager, believe in our manager. Lest you forget, that's the "Liverpool Way".
