Is the Kop Blindly Loyal?

I Like many have not enjoyed the season so far in terms of results for the kop.But what i have noticed is that we (LIVERPOOL) are being attacked opportunity. I was atually starting to think this was orchestrated attack on us but its every journalist or so called( stan dogging collymore) in the land. I agree we are not blind but we are loyal, same cannot be said about others.EXCELLENT ARTICLE!!!

John Christie is absolutely right. Rafa Benitez is building a new Liverpool - and we saw a glimpse of it in the last months of the 2008-9 season. Good fans are patient and give good managers the time to turn things round. Those teams that chop and turn (Real Madrid anyone? Newcastle?) fail to have a long-standing impact.

As to Stan Collymore and Ronnie Whelan, I think we can safely discard their comments. None other than non-LFC fans would read that kind of rubbish...

i have been a liverpool supporter for the past 25 years and i must honestly say that the current team falls far short of the great teams built by the trio of shankly, paisley and fagan, which made the old first division championship its birthright. Some of the players in the team e.g el zhar; dossena; voronin; lucas and babel will find it very difficult to even get into the fourth teams of the great teams built by the legends above. rafa has reduced us to a mid table mediocre team rubbing shoulders with the likes of burnley; birmingham;wigan and fulham and relying on cheating to snatch draws. His player management skills is abysmal and 80% of the players purchased by him would do well in the championships rather than the premiership. We have already fallen well behind chelsea, arsenal and man u in all respects and it will be a miracle if we finish in the top 6 this season. Some of us criticing him now should not be labelled as disloyal. It is just very painful watching our beloved reds falling into low depths week in week out, with rafa having no clue on how to stop the freefall. That is why we are calling for a more capable manager at the helm of affairs before rafa turns us to a perpetual bottom of the table outfit. Rafa out, mourinho or o'neil in

Any liverpool supporter, who had the good fortune of seeing the glory days of the 80s, will agree that it was a pride then to be seen as a reds supporter. Fans of man u, arsenal, spurs etc were always casting envious glances at us as the rampant reds majestically marshalled by graeme souness; king kenny, ian rush, peter beardsley, john barnes, john aldrige,the south african bruce grobellaar, ronnie whelan, phil neal etc swept all before them in anexing championships and cups yearly. Why have we then fallen to this low depths where we were almost humiliated by birmingham last week and had to get a face saving draw through an ngog theatrics?. The answer is simple: the anfield helmsman has lost focus and is also paying for some of his past sins including the sacking of his former deputy and replacing him with sammy lee; his arrogant refusal to praise his players in public and poor player management abilities which made us to lose good players like alonso; crouch, keane and bellamy. Selling other good players like risse; hyppia; warnock and pernant while keeping faith with mediocres like el zhar; mr miss-it voronin; dossena; babel, the greek guy and ngog.
We reds supporters have to call a spade a spade and stop blaming our american owners alone for our predicaments. Afterall rafa was given hundreds of millions of pounds in transfer money but virtually squandered them all. If good managers like coyle of burnley and o'neil of aston villa were given as much resources as rafa, they will probably be in the top four now. We should tell rafa that we are tired of his escuses and he should buckle up, between now and January, for a speedy return to our glory days failing which he should be made to walk alone back to spain. The little sucesses we have so far enjoyed under his leadership can never be compared to our all conquering triumphs of the 80s. By the way, i doubt real madrid, if they ever give him a job, will have the type of patience we reds have for him at the moment. It is certainly not a good experience being a liverpool supporter at the moment. What with the taunts of the chelsea, arsenal and man u supporters as they record strings of impressive victories weekly.

Please tell me how Rafa was to blame for Alonso, Crouch, Keane, Bellamy leaving?

Also, why selling Pennant, Riise, Warnock and big Sami was a mistake?

If you think we've spent these'hundreds of millions' please enlighten us as to where these magnificent funds have gone?

If the taunts of other clubs fans bother you then maybe you should re-think your own so called support. Anyone who recommends O'Neil or Coyle needs certifying. Who next Curbishley?

Go on convince me, answer the above points with some reality instead of regurgitating media based factless rubbish

The answer to the question posted is yes they are. but so it should be, well done for sticking by your manager, but the gutter press many have their figures wrong and maybe targeting you because of bias.

But as a supporter of Newcastle I feel sad for your situation but much much worse for our.

I do believe that your chairmen with their squabbles and your manager who has now bought and sold so many players some good some bad have questions to answer. Surely by now he has bought so many coffee tables and lamps, when will he stop crying for more and more money

You on this website mind shouted from the roof tops about Keegan spending £60m to come second, and never mentioned "gross spend" then, but now its Rafa gross spend the key word, at the same time Wenger has a profit, I think we both need to look towards North London for a close look at Mr Wenger.

Its not a lecture from a deluded Geordie Kate before it trips off your keyboard, But an observation from a fan who would rather have Liverpool winning the league that the Mancs or Chealsea.

What Kate, please read, what myths, he has spent a load of money, tell me when the team will be as he wants it?

Hes spent £80 million which equates to £13.5 million a season .Rafas trying to build a team to win the league which is difficult when the teams you are challenging can outspend you in fees and wages . Hes had to sell to buy ,now hes been told he will have to sell to pay for Reinas improved contract .Rab he may have bought 76 players (including academy) but hes had to sell 58 .

Whassat about selling to pay for Pepe's contract? Not read/heard that. Frankly wouldn't be surprised though!

Bought 76 players or nearly 7 teams that says it all, I buy less than that on FM2010 in the time he has been at Liverpool and mine is pretend money

Rab surelly you must give your manager every possible chance?Success is built on solid foudations .Continuity and stability is the only way to create the enviroment were success will flourish. Our club at the moment is anything but stable with the boadroom shambles of our owners .Im convinced if we can ride the storm until the two parasites f*ck off Rafa will do the business .
