When In A Fog

The late great Bob Paisley, despite being the most successful manager in English history, was never the most articulate. His knowledge of the game was second to none; his ability to relate it was questioned, but only by people who didn’t know him.
He was the opposite of Shankly, the ultimate football orator. Paisley looked nervous when interviewed, a man of few words, but a genius none the less.
When asked what's the secret of the "Liverpool Way"? He answered "If you're lost in a fog you stick together", a typical Paisley reply. No mention of tactics, planning, finance, but a strange rambling about the weather.
At this moment in time we should take note of the great man. A simple man? More like, simply a genius.

Good article carra.
It's time Reds fans saw through the press agenda which has been in place since Rafa first came here. The only difference now is that because we're going through a disastrous patch they're braver and feel quite justified in showing their disrespect, hate and bile for Rafa.
How come the likes of Moyes and O'Neil get away with displaying absolute dire performances, lose points but are still media darlings? It's quite pathetic and any Reds fan who has now let them judge our manager on the last 5 months rather than the last 5 years aren't worthy of the name Liverpool supporter.

This is my view ... I think Rafa is a great technical manager, but he misses passion, he misses the human element of any sport ... turning people into a team!
I believe Rafa has made the situation worse while at LFC, he moans and blames others (mainly the owners) for his mistakes. The good old days the manager got on with building a force with the players he had, not complaining ... Those who talk about respect for Rafa should in my view be expecting that respect from our present manager for this club, I don't believe he does...enough!
Can I knock his football knowledge, no way but i can knock his people skills, his lack at building a team so tight it becomes a fortress. Anfield was a fortress now I fear it is just a group of people.
Rafa needs to move on, not because he is a bad manager but because this club is not about the best technical manager but a manager who can build a belief so great, Anfield will once again becomes a fortress, and yes that builds through wins but it has to have a foundation to build from and this foundation is not solid, thats why we will have bigs ups and big downs under Rafa.

Tell me Rebel how many previous Liverpool managers have had to sell players in order to buy ? How many of our managers have had to rely on free transfers or unknown Greeks .As for his man management skills i wouldnt know ive never worked with him .They must have been ok to bring two LaLigas to Valencia ,take us to two European cup finals and and fa cup .Sooner or later the diminishing squad was going to create problems .Blame the owners mate and take no notice of our newspapers their full of sh*te

Do you really believe that Shanks got on with building the squad and not questioning the money the board were willing to spend?
Surely his famous holy trinity quote tells you what he thought directors/chairmen should be doing for a club.
At a football club there is a holy trinity-the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come in to it - they are there just to sign the cheques.
Do you really think Shanks would have put up with the money to spend provided by the Yanks without castigating them left, right and centre? Know your history son.
