A SEASON NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN

We’ve had many never to be forgotten seasons at Anfield. Glorious campaigns crowned with great victories at home and abroad. We’ve had our tragedies of 85 and 89, all of which will never be forgotten. 20010/2011 will also never be forgotten, a season of the like we have never endured before, on and off the pitch. A season that tested our faith in the "Liverpool Way" against the greed and lies of shambolic owners, and a media campaign trying to tell us what’s best for our club.

The season started with Hodgsons arrival, greeted with underwhelming apathy. The sacking of legend Rafa Benitez stank the house out and the majority of the fans knew it.  Hodgson was a political move by Hicks and Gillett, and a ‘championship manager playing’ chief executive in Christian Purslow.  Rafa had been a huge thorn in their side, and medias darling Roy was meant to soften the blow. Roy was a disaster, totally out of his depth; it was an embarrassment on and off the pitch.

Ahero emerged in the shape of Martin Broughton, a city of London Chelsea fan who masterminded the exit of Hicks and Gillett, and introduced us to John Henry. Deal was done 4 hours before we were plunged into administration. The fans boycotts,demos,marches and internet terrorism had paid off,  but Mr. Broughton will never be forgotten.

Our new owners had to remove Hodgson.  Our worst start for 57 years said it all; only one man could do the job, Kenny Dalglish. The transformation was instant; a stunning second half of the season took us from relegation fodder to the brink of Europe. We have our club back, our self belief, and we pride ourselves, as fans, to sticking to our "LiverpoolWay" above all else .

We look forward stronger towards next season. We walked through a storm with our heads held high, with Kenny there will be a golden sky.
