"THE LIVERPOOL WAY" Has it gone?

Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Moran, men with characters of granite. Men of honesty, hard work, humour and great integrity. From these men "The Liverpool Way" was chiselled. To play to win, but to win and lose with good grace.
Footballing men take care of the football, and let the suits take care of the business. No dirty washing in public, everything above board. It was simple, it worked, and it was, above all, honest and respectful to all at the club, on and off the pitch.
In the last few years the clubs whole foundations have been shaken to the core. Outside influences have exploited the innocence of "The Liverpool Way". Our suits were no longer up to the job, and a killing was to be had. It's put us back years, but at least we are no longer near bankruptcy. We are, however, in the hands and at the mercy of businessmen owners who, know the price of everything but not the value of our most important part, THE LIVERPOOL WAY.
To sack Kenny was not our way, he's family, he's ours, he deserved more time. Who knows, they may well get it right in the end?
It's wrong to live in the past, but surely it's wrong not to learn from it before you go forward.

Rodgers is not playing the "Liverpool 80s" with quick passing and oportunistic hoof-ball in a 'Big Man Small Man" twin attacking threat.
You need a whole generation of kids training in the Academy and a new crop of senior players - after gerrard - to play "tiki taka" football as envisaged by Rodgers.
It took Arsene Wenger 16 long years (from 1996) to nurture this current crop of Wenger Wunderkind to play "tiki taka" WengerBall - last season known as "Crab Football" with 30+ short-passes at a languid pace around the box, sideway and backward with final "thru' ball" at a defender.
Have you got the patience to give Rodgers 6 long years to get his act together, like we are giving Arsene Wenger 8 years to win us a piece of silverware (2006 to 2014)?
Forget about those "Bootromm Boys" as it is dead as a dodo like Highbury.
Welcome to the Brave New World of COrporate Football where achieving bottom-line KPI is more important that winning title and trophies.
John Henry is not buying Liverpool FC as a charity service to City of Liverpool. He saw a global brand of Liverpool FC beign undervalued, and FSG is buying low and selling high..hopefuly to an oil shiekh within 5 years with 100% gain in capital appreciation.
Or with a boost in commercial values and increased revenues, FSG will recoup all its capital outlay to buy Liverpool FC within 5 to 10 years.
In summary, be patience with Rodgers for at least 2 more seasons and perhaps you will see the result from 2014/15 season.
And as yet, the old chestnut KPI still applies:
Get into TOp-4 this season.
Remember, in September 2011, Arsenal was 17th and in February 2012, Arsenal was 10 points behind Tiny Totts and 0-2 down at half-time...and the rest is history..
ALl is not over yet till it si over in May 2013.
Plenty to fight for...
