Gerrard believes LFC can make top four

Steven Gerrard has spoken about his disappointment at last seasons 8th place finish. He believes that Liverpool aren't far from a top four finish.

He said:

"It was strange - it wasn't disappointing," "When you get to two cup finals and also beat Everton at Wembley in a semi-final, they are memories you take with you when you finish your career.

"Even in the league we played games where we battered teams. The Arsenal game, I watched it from the directors' box and it's probably one of the bestLiverpoolperformances at Anfield that I've watched.

"We came away having got beat 2-1 - Arsenal go on to finish in the top four and we're eighth. Those are the small details at this level that determine the position you finish in.

"We are not that far from the top sides in the league and that gives me the belief that we can gatecrash the top four."
