The Reds are waiting in the wings after Arsenal stalled on a deal for the Moulton 16-year-old. After several weeks of negotiations, the Gunners have told Lincoln City that they oppose one item in the contract, believed to be a sell-on clause.

Hobbs' agent Charles Collymore told the Lincolnshire Free Press: "Arsenal have not agreed to a particular clause, which is quite important to Lincoln City.
 
"We're waiting to hear if Arsenal want to proceed. While that's happening there are three or four other clubs all showing interest."
Collymore insisted that the Gunners are still favourites to sign the 6ft 3in centre half, who has three minutes' first team experience.
"The boy wants to go to Arsenal," he said.
 
Lincoln City are standing firm because they want the best possible deal now and in the future should Hobbs (pictured) move on from his next club.
 
Liverpool are one of a number of Premiership clubs monitoring developments closely. Others believed to be interested in the former Spalding Grammar School student are Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton.
 
Hobbs' parents Paul and Petra are due to return from holiday on Tuesday.
 
No deal could have been signed while they were away because their son is still a minor and a parent needs to be present.
