Penney – We Should Have Won

Doncaster manager Dave Penney believes that his team should have won the game and sent Swindon packing with nothing.

In an exciting match, with end-to-end football, both teams left with a point but because of Doncaster’s dominance in the 2nd half, Penney believes they should have took their chances and won.

Holmes opened for Town on 5 minutes but Roberts equalised for Roves on the half hour mark.

Penney said:

"It's frustrating because we wanted to win to go above them in the table,"

"But they started better than us and deservedly went in front.

"It wasn't good defending from our point of view for their goal. But apart from them hitting the post in the second half, I thought we were the only side that was going to go on and win the game.

"The good thing is that the rest of the teams around us drew as well so we haven't lost any ground. But I'm not happy with a point because we played well enough to get three."
