Vuoso to shine at City

Kevin Keegan and Dennis Tueart have been speaking to the Daily Express about Argentine forward Vicente Matias Vuoso. Keegan was explaining how he came to sign the youngster who is considered to be one of Argentina's brightest young stars.
Vuoso to be a starKevin Keegan and Dennis Tueart have been speaking about how highly they rate new Argentine signing, Vicente Vuoso, despite never having seen him play a competitive game live.Speaking in the Daily Express, Keegan and Tueart explained how they came across the player who is thought of as something as a golden boy back home in Argentina. Keegan told the Express, “We had a tape of Vuoso given to us by a contact, and then we sent one of Arthur Cox’s scouts, Frank Sibley, over to Argentina to watch him in two games. Vuoso did well in a struggling side, so we then got more tapes to find out what he was really about before putting together the bones of a deal. I believe we have bought potential. He is a future Argentina international. He is at under 20 level now and these players generally make the step up. If he does well here, he will enhance his credentials. He is an exciting acquisition and a lot different from the other strikers we’ve got here. He will link up the play and come off the front two as well.” Tueart said “Kevin has done his research on the player. Vuoso is highly thought of in Argentina. He has played for Independiente for two years and is still only 20.” City are doing all they can to make Vuoso feel at home, having already found an apartment for him and having sent him on a crash course in English. Vuoso has company in the Manchester area with former team mate Diego Forlan now plying his trade across the City for the rags. Vuoso is believed to have the potential to follow in the footsteps of Argentine greats like Batistuta, Crespo, Ortega and Lopez. With Keegan’s legendary motivational skills all at City will be hoping he realises that potential. |
