Hibs 3 - 1 Motherwell

Discipline again proved to be our downfall as three players were sent off and we also squandered an early lead against Hibs. The only good thing to come out of todays defeat was on loan striker Stevie Ferguson getting his first goal for the club.

The Motherwell fan's who made the trip to Easter Road will try and forget about this game after it had started well, Stevie Ferguson got his first goal when a hopeful ball by Derek Adams found Ferguson who stole in behind Gary Smith to nod the ball over Colgan and into the empty net but it was all downhill from there.


The first to be sent off was defender Daniel Sengewald, after being booked in the first half for numerous foul's on Mixu Paatlelainen, his late challenge on Hibs midfielder John O'Neil on 56 minute mark led to the German getting his second yellow. Youngster Stephen Pearson was next to go after 87 minutes, Pearo was sent off for serious foul play and in the aftermath Partridge was ordered off with Hibs Grant Brebner for fighting but it was questionable whether the Hibs man had actually hit Partridge back.


John O'Neil wrapped the game up in the final minute with a penalty after Mixu Paatlelainen and Tam McManus had put Hibs in front.


We now head to Celtic Park to face an inform Celtic side who will also be desperate to get revenge for their defeat at Fir Park in September which cost them their top place in the SPL. Motherwell will be without Sengewald, Pearson and Partridge but Captain Leitch will be back from suspension and its hopeful that Dougie Ramsay and Keith Lasley will be back from injury.
