Motherwell 2 - 2 Partick Thistle

David Partridge and David Clarkson got the Motherwell goals in a match Ian Fyfe was intent in ruining. Alex Burns scored the two goals for the visitors ( as usual ).
Talking point with home and away fan's would surely be the performance from Referee Ian Fyfe. He booked ten player's, 6 from the home side and 4 for the visitors and also unfairly sent off James McFadden for making only two tackles in the space of 15 minutes.
Big Thistle support
Motherwell opened the scoring through David Clarkson, McFadden's shot was deflected into the Thistle box where Clarkson pounced to get his first senior goal. Partick Thistle got back into the match when Alex Burns got the first of his two goals, a free-kick 20 yards from goal, Burns levelled the scores with a tremendous shot into the top corner of the net, giving keeper Francois Dubourdeau no chance. Burns second goal came straight after Motherwell almost took the lead for a second time, David Partridge missed from only 4 yards out after Lehmann had headered the ball onto the post which left the defender with a great chance but he hit it over the bar, Thistle raced up the park and were awarded a penalty when Walker went down in the box with Kinniburgh close by. Burns slotted the penalty home with ease taking his tally to 4 goals against his former club this season, a great record considering he only scored 9 goals in his whole Fir Park career.

This match was far from over, 10 man Motherwell fought all the way and were rewarded in the 74th minute, they're equaliser came through when Partridge floated in a header off the far post to net his first goal for the club.
