Motherwell's fight to stay in the Premier League starts at Firhill this Saturday against a Partick Thistle side we've failed to beat since they won promotion last season.

Motherwell's record against Thistle this season reads two draws and a defeat. Terry Butcher knows that record will have to improve if his side are to come off bottom spot. Terry has Khaled Kemas and Shaun Fagan out through injury and Stephen Pearson and Keith Lasley will sit out the match because of suspension.

This week Terry has been trying to get his team focusing on league matters after the great run in the Scottish cup, Tel told teletext " After the Rangers game I told the boys I was proud, but it's over now and we have six massive games coming up starting with Partick Thistle. "


Good news for the Steelmen is the pre - contract agreement which Scott Paterson has signed with Ian McCall's Dundee United. John Lambie is angered that much over the situation that it's likely Paterson has played his last game for Thistle.
