A late equaliser from Tony Vaughan kept Motherwell's hopes of SPL survival alive. The tall defender struck with 5 minutes of the match remaining.

Stephen Pearson had opened the scoring after 11 minutes and kept the lead till half time. Dundee United came out fighting early in the second half and were rewarded when a rare moment of quality from United midfielder Charlie Miller saw the Terrors equalise, the ex Rangers player stepped past four Motherwell players before blasting past a helpless Stevie Woods. Offiong and McFadden missed a host of chances then came the inevitible, United took the lead with less than 10 minutes on the clock. Ex Kilmarnock hitman Jim McIntyre squeezed in a shot from a tight angle to beat Woods at his near post. Motherwell created a few more chances before Vaughan bundled the ball across the line to snatch a well deserved point. Today's attendance was our biggest gate of the season for a match outwith the Old Firm. Reduced entry for home and away fans ensured a healthy 9,056 turned up for this crucial match.
