History of the ground



Fir Park - Last Century



Motherwell moved into Fir Park in 1895.

It has held one International match Between Scotland and Wales which Scotland won 5 - 2.

The record attendance is a staggering 35,632,which was set in a Scottish Cup game against Rangers on Motherwell's successful 1952 campaign.

The current capacity is 13,742.

Where can fan's drink ?


Away fan's can drink in Jack Daniels which is a 5 minute walk from Fir Park , On matchdays away fans can enjoy the comfort of the lounge with home fan's using the bar. Food is served in here and is a decent standard. The Claret and Amber club which is situated across from Fir Park is for members only.


Directions and where to park


The ground is easy to find , you can see the ground from the M74, take junction 6 and follow road until you get to the traffic lights take a right onto Airbles Road , follow the road to the top of the hill and you can see Fir Park on the right. Most of the area around Fir Park is a housing scheme so get there early and get parked near the ground although you can park in Motherwell College car park which is nearer the away end of the ground , however it will cost you a few pound's.


Where is the nearest Train Station ?


Motherwell Station is a main-line station on the Glasgow-London (Euston) route, and the station is particularly well served by trains running from numerous points throughout the Strathclyde region. The station is a twenty minute walk from Fir Park , while the station at Airbles Road is only ten minutes away.
