Transfer bid rejected

Motherwell have rejected a bid in the region of £ 1 Million from Dundee for striker James McFadden.

After nearly two years of transfer speculation surrounding James McFadden, this is believed to be the first formal approach for the youngster since Craig Brown's desiory bid of £ 200,000 at the start of last season.


Faddy who has been capped 4 times for Scotland is valued at £ 2.5 Million by Motherwell. A spokesman from Fir Park told the BBC " We have recieved a formal approach from Dundee for James McFadden but it has been rejected. " It now looks as if James will be travelling to Almondvale to face Livingston on Saturday, the last time he faced Livi he scored a hat trick in a 6 - 2 win at the end of last season.


This morning McFadden told the Scotsman - " As far as I'm concerned, until the club come to me and say there is something happening then it's not worth worrying about


" Whatever happens will happen. My job is to play for Motherwell until someone tells me otherwise and that's what I will do.


" When the time is right, I'll know. If I get the opportunity, then hopefully I can take it. But I'm not sitting here thinking I want to leave, because this is a great place to be.


" Yes, I'm ambitious and it's no disrespect to Motherwell that I wouldn't say I'd love to spend my whole career here.


" But I've got two years left on my contract, not just one as a lot of people seem to think, and I'm very happy to stay. "

We beleive the big names that were meant to be arriving were Scotland's hottest property James McFadden and former Parma frontman Daniel Fonseca.
