Lewis yet to sign new contract

Preston are still no nearer getting American international Eddie Lewis to sign a new contract.

Preston have voiced their concern that Eddie Lewis will not sign a new deal with the club.

The USA international is out of contract at the end of the season but his agent Paul Stretford has yet to agree a new deal with the club.

"I have to say at the moment we don't know what is going to happen," North End chairman Derek Shaw told the Lancashire Evening Post.

"We don't know whether he is going to re-sign or leave in the summer."

Shaw continued: "That is very worrying".

"I spoke to Eddie about 10 days ago and he said he would be pushing Paul Stretford to speak with us again".

"At the moment we are waiting for his people to get back in touch with us, but so far we haven't heard anything.

"These things can drag on. But we would like to get it sorted out as soon as possible and, at the moment, we haven't got it sorted."
