Midfielder Alan McCormack stays on at League Two side Southend until the end of the season

Youngster Alan McCormack, 21 has been given the nod to stay on loan at Southend until the end of the season to help them battle out a League 2 promotion bid. Southend currently sit 2nd in League 2 chasing first place in what looks a close league.

McCormack who played a part in Southends defeat in the LDV Vans Trophy final to League 1 strugglers Wrexham, initially joined The Shrimpers on 4 week deal to stand in for suspensions and injuries looks like he may have made an impression.

The Dublin born Midfielder has been unable to make an impression at Deepdale featuring in only 4 games all from the bench, and was placed on the transfer list back in September.
