Fitzroy Simpson back on non-contract basis

Fitzroy Simpson has returned to the club on a non-contract basis, in a deal that hopes to bolster Walsalls injury hit squad and put Simpson in the shop window.

Simpson was offered a short term deal along with Don Goodman and Dean Keates at the end of last season, but Simpson turned this offer down and in order to find a deal elsewhere.

Simpson had established himself as a first team player under Lee, after he had fell out of favour with Ray Graydon. This made the offer of a short-term deal even more surprising after he gave a string of consistent performances along side skipper Martin O’Connor in midfield.

This deal will hopefully benefit both parties. If Simpson gets his chance, which surely he will, he will give his all to get noticed by other clubs or maybe even earn another deal at the Bescot. Then again it is good news for Colin Lee who has Sonner, Martinez and Simpson to pick from at the moment.
