Three quick goals settled Rangers nerves at Rugby Park as they ran out 5-1 winners to seal the SPL Championship.

Kyle Lafferty scored after only 46 seconds, and minutes later Steven Naismith made it two. The third was scored by Laffery once again and put the Champagne on ice after only seven minutes.

There were no more first half goals, but early in the second half Jelavic made it 4-0 before Lafferty sealed his hat trick. Killie did get a consolation through a deflected Dayton shot.

The final whistle sparked wild celebrations, and this was no more than Rangers deserved as they held their nerve at the crucial stage, and haven’t lost in the last 10 games.

Over at Celtic Park the home side signed off the League season with an emphatic 4-0 win over a much changed Motherwell side. Goals from Hooper, Samaras, Maloney and McCourt sealed the win.

Celtic Manager Neil Lennon addressed the crowd after the game and confirmed it is not his plan to move anywhere as this is only the beginning not the end.
