The draw for the Second Round of the Scottish Communities League Cup was made this afternoon.
The draw sees the entrance of a number of the SPL sides into the competition and it has set up a number of intriguing ties.
St. Mirren enter the competition and have been paired with their Renfrewshire neighbours Morton at Cappielow. This will no doubt provide fireworks as there is a really strong rivalry between the two sides.
Promotion hopefuls Dundee are given an opportunity to show their credentials when they get the chance to take on Pittodrie. Another First Division side will fancy their chances of progressing against SPL opponents are Livingston who take on St. Johnstone in Perth.
There are a couple of other local rivalries with Motherwell travelling to Cumbernauld to take on Clyde and Dunfermline travelling to Methil to take on East Fife.
Cup holders Rangers enter at the next stage, along with Celtic, Hearts, Dundee United and Kilmarnock.
The draw was held at the Highland Football Academy in Dingwall by MSP Fergus Ewing and Scottish Schools' Football Association president Rod Houston.
