Scotland take on Denmark in a friendly at Hamden tomorrow night ahead of three big Euro qualifiers.
Many have complained this is a gameScotlandcould have done without given the timing for the game. You could argue on the other hand it is a game we really need.
We haven’t played a competitive game since losing to Spain in October last year, and while the ten months out has given Craig Levein time to look at players he needs this game to settle on his team and formation for the games coming up against the Czechs and Lithuanians.
Previous friendlies have seen a number of players pull out and Levein forced to field shadow squads but thankfully for this game there has only been three players pull out. The players who have pulled out are Whittaker, Hutton and Commons.
This shows me the players want to be there and are keen to pull on the jesrsey for Levein, this is a major step forward forScotland.
In the last year we have seen the emergence of Charlie Adam as an established international. We have also seen McGregor, Dorrans and Goodwillie break through alongside McGregor, Brown and Miller as the more experienced players.
We have playedDenmarka total of 14 times, we have won eight games but sadly we have lost the last five going back to the World Cup in 1986 without scoring a goal!!
Team confirmed as: McGregor; Bardsley, Caldwell, D Wilson, Crainey, Snodgrass, Brown, Adam, Morrison, Naismith, Miller
This will be a good test and will give us an indication of how prepared we are to take on the challenges ahead in the next three months.
