The first round draw of the Scottish Cup was made this afternoon as was the third round draw for the League Cup.

The teams taking part provide a great contrast with the Scottish Cup First Round including only the Non League sides who have qualified, while in the third round of the League Cup all surviving SPL clubs are now involved in the seeded draw.

In the League Cup there will be mixed emotions among the lower League Clubs withRossCountyandFalkirkbeing big winners with money spinning home ties against Celtic and Rangers.

While there will be other clubs who won’t be entirely happy with the draw. Hibs won’t be happy with the prospect of a trip toFirParkto take on Motherwell, given the start to the season both sides have made.

Also in Lanarkshire could be slightly disappointed despite drawing Dundee United at home, they might have hoped for the Old Firm or their old Lanarkshire rivals. Fellow Second Division side East Fife will be looking for another SPL scalp when they travel toAberdeenafter seeing offDunfermlinein the last round.

Meanwhile in the Scottish Cup First Round the non League teams start their adventure desperately hoping to get a chance to take on one of the big guns in the Fourth Round when the SPL clubs join in.

This is also an opportunity for the Junior sides to take on the Seniors and show the quality at that level of the game. Scottish Junior Cup winners Auchinleck Talbot take on Lossiemouth, while West Superleague champions Irvine Meadow face Forres Mechanics.

Bo'ness United, who retained the East Superleague title, faceFortWilliam, and Culter, who won the North Premier League, are at home to East of Scotland League side Burntisland Shipyard.
