Motherwell shared a goalless draw with Kilmarnock at Fir Park to ensure they will spend another week in second.

This was a game between two teams who have been given credit for playing football the right way, but sadly despite 90 minutes of playing that way there were no goals to show for it.

That was despite a number of chances at both ends, with Motherwell having the better of the chances at the start of the game. Craigan had a shot deflected wide and then a Humphrey angled drive drifted just wide of the far post.

Well’s best chance came on the half hour mark, an inswinging corner from Hateley rebounded off the cross bar, but Craigan couldn’t quite get his head over the rebound and his effort landed on the roof of the net.

Killie came back into things just before the break, and almost took the lead when Gary Harkins found space in the box but his effort beatRandolphand rebounded off the base of the post.

The second half started brightly with Jaakkola in the visitors goal pulling off a stunning double save to denyJenningsand then Higdon. From then on there was plenty of huffing and puffing but neither side really looked like scoring.

Motherwell know they will be second for another week no matter what Celtic do tomorrow, but no one is getting carried away at Fir Park while they sit in that lofty position.

There were plenty of goals in the first half at New St. Mirren Park, with Hibs taking a 3-2 lead at the break. The re-called Leigh Griffiths score early in the game but Paul McGowan score a double to put the Saints in the lead with about 10 minutes to the break.

Hibs replied with two quick goals of their own to take the lead, withGriffithsadding a second and O’Hanlon putting the Easter Rd side into the lead.

As often the second half didn’t live up to the excitement of the first and neither side could find the target once again, and Hibs held on to take the three points.
