March 3 2006

Aston Villa will host Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth at Villa Park tomorrow as they try to extend Pompey's winless streak to eight games.

Aston Villa team news: David O'Leary has a crisis at the heart of his defence as Mellberg, Delaney and Cahill are all out injured, meaning Ridgewell is the only fit centre-back. Aaron Hughes faces a late fitness test but if he passes fit, he will move across from full-back to fill the gap in the centre. Luke Moore has shaken off a hamstring strain so will be hoping to start but Angel will also be hoping to retain his place on the front-line alongside Milan Baros.

Portsmouth team news: Andres D'Alessandro is expected to return to the starting line-up but Pamarot and Diao remain sidelined. O'Neil, Primus, Hughes, Griffin and Mwaruwari all face late fitness tests.
