Alonso In Bolton Loan Move

Bolton Wanderers will take Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Alonso on loan for the 2007-2008 season the Spanish club have confirmed on their official website earlier this evening .

The 27-year old was on trial with the Trotters during their training stint in Austria last week and now it seems as if he has been given the chance to follow in his younger brother's footsteps in the Premiership.

His sibling Xabi Alonso has proved to be particularly popular at Liverpool over the last three years and many feel that the two brothers are very similar in their approach to the game and the way they play.

Alonso senior has been at Real Sociedad since 2001 but their relegation from the Spanish La Liga last season prompted him to look for a new challenge away from Chris Coleman's side and this has seemingly come in the shape of a move to the Reebok Stadium.
