Michalik Stays At Bolton

Lubomir Michalik will remain a Bolton Wanderers player despite the fact that Leeds United are rumoured to want to take the Slovakian international centre half back to Elland Road for next season.

Friday morning media reports claimed that the financially troubled Yorkshire club would launch a bid to take the 23-year old back over the Pennines but this has since been dismissed by Wanderers manager Sammy Lee.

"The reason Lubomir went out on loan was to gain experience of football in this country, He is part of my plans for the coming season." said the manager to the Bolton News.

Michalik joined Bolton on a long term contract in January from FC Senec and after a two month loan spell with fallen giants Leeds he impressed for the Trotters in the final few games of the 2006-07 campaign.

He is currently on duty with the rest of the Bolton squad for their Peace Cup commitments in South Korea and came on as a substitute for Ricardo Gardner in Thursday's match against Seongnam Ilhwa.
