Bolton have confirmed that they have sent prolific striker Collins Mbesuma back to Kaizer Chiefs following a brief training stint.

The 21-year old Zambian was due to spend a whole week training with the Premiership club, but confusion surrounds the actual terms of the agreement with both clubs voicing different views.

Bolton wanted to assess the player over a short period of time, whilst Kaizer Cheifs where under the impression that their top scorer would be going over to England to agree terms on a transfer.

A statement on the club's official site read:

"Bolton Wanderers Football Club will not be pursuing their interest in Zambia striker Collins Mbesuma after the 21 year-old completed a short trial spell with the Club."

However, Cheifs manager Bobby Motaung was under the impression that his star striker would be finalising a move to England. He indicated that he would not allow the player nicknamed "The Hurricane" leave on trial.

"In our last conversation with them they indicated they wanted to take him in camp to put him on trials and we refused,”

“Our initial understanding was that he was going there for medicals and should he pass his medicals then they could go ahead and sign him."

"The other issue is that he was supposed to go there and check the conditions to ensure he was happy with the new environment,"
