Allardyce To Pass Up On Free Agents

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce says that he will resist any temptation to dip into the out of contract market because he feels that the players available will not improve his current squad any further.

Allardyce was linked with a move for free-agent Rui Jorge earlier this week and despite being short on defensive cover the Trotters cheif passed up on the opportunity to sign the experienced defender because he felt that he was no better than what the club already had at their disposal, meaning that Bolton will now have to make do with the resources they have until the January window.

"I don't think there is anyone out there with the quality we need to come and do a job for us. We will have to live with what we have got and then try and recruit again in January." Allardyce told the official website.

The Wanderers boss already admitted that he did not have enough left in his summer treasure chest to tempt Saints duo Oliver Bernard and Fabrice Fernandes to the club. In the end it was a case of one and not both for Allardyce who has been playing Henrik Pedersen as a makeshift defender.
