Bolton Make A Profit

Excellent performances on the pitch throughout the previous campaign have lead to Bolton Wanderers making a pre-tax profit of £3.9 million over the last financial year.

It marks a £1.3 million increase for Burnden Leisure on last year's results which where also very encouraging and it is a sign that the slight financial worries of yesteryear are now well and truly on the way out of peoples minds.

The Wanderers gained a £3.5 million increase in football revenue and this helped to cancel out a small hike in the running costs of the Football Club which rose by a total of three percent.

Burnden Leisure cheif executive Allan Duckworth was delighted at the outcome of the results and promised the public that there would be further progression with the business in the future.

"It is again pleasing to report continued progress across the business. During the past few years we have all enjoyed the success of the football team and, at the same time, have been able to develop our business in line with our strategic goals. The Directors and Management are continually reviewing and updating these corporate goals to reflect the changing world, but our basic business model remains valid.

"It is essential that we are able to strike the correct balance between achievable income levels and current expenditure, whilst also maintaining adequate levels of investment for the future. Investment in people and infrastructure, however, will remain our priority, along with evolving our key strategic partnerships."

Football Turnover: £44.5 million (£41 million)
