Big Sam's Big Virus

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce will have to spend some time away from his players after picking up a throat infection over the last couple of days.

Allardyce will spent a breif time away from the training ground so that he will not pass the virus onto any of his squad ahead of Thursday night's UEFA Cup Group H game against Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaeres.

Assistant Sammy Lee and First Team Coach Ricky Sbragia are to oversee training as a precautionary measure.

"This virus I have can spread through a club like a dose of salts so I am won't be having contact with the players today.

"I will leave the work to the coaching staff because some players might be affected by my sore throat.

"They could go into the game not feeling 100% and that is something we want to avoid
